FREE PDF Homework Scanner is a document scanning app designed for students. We built it with a simple principle: your scans belong to you, they stay on your device, and we never see them.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and what choices you have. Because the app requires no account and sends no data to any server, this policy is intentionally short.
Information We Collect
FREE PDF Homework Scanner does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or crash-reporting services integrated into the app.
The only data the app works with is the content you create — scanned pages, PDF documents, scan titles, and class labels — and that data exists exclusively on your device in local app storage.
- Camera: The app uses your device camera to capture pages. Images are processed on-device to produce PDF documents. No image or video data is uploaded anywhere.
- Scan content: Titles, class labels, and PDF files you create are saved in local app storage on your device only.
- No usage data: The app does not include analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting tools.
- No identifiers: The app does not read or collect your name, email address, device advertising ID, or any other identifier.
How We Use Information
Because no personal information leaves your device, there is no information for us to use, sell, or share. All processing — edge detection, cropping, filtering, and PDF generation — happens locally on your device.
Device Permissions And Sensitive Data
The app requests access to your device camera. This permission is used solely to capture pages for scanning. You will see an iOS system prompt explaining this before the permission is granted. You may deny camera access; however, the core scanning feature will not be available without it.
The app does not request access to your photo library, microphone, contacts, location, health data, or any other sensitive system resource.
How We Share Information
We do not share any information because we do not collect any. When you choose to share a PDF using the in-app share sheet, you are using Apple's standard iOS sharing mechanism. Any app or service you share to is governed by that recipient's own privacy policy, not ours.
Data Retention
Your scans and PDFs are stored only on your device for as long as you keep them. You can delete individual scans at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all associated local data permanently.
Your Choices
You are in full control of your data at all times.
- Camera permission: Grant or revoke at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Delete scans: Remove individual scans or all scans from within the app at any time.
- Delete the app: Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored scan data from your device.
Children's Privacy
FREE PDF Homework Scanner is designed for students and is suitable for users of all ages. The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because no data leaves the device, the app is compliant with COPPA and similar children's privacy frameworks by design.
