Privacy Policy

Deckly · Last updated May 16, 2026

Deckly is a local-only flashcard app made by timmy mckeegan. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data Deckly collects, how it is used, and your choices. The short version: Deckly stores everything on your device and does not transmit your personal flashcard content anywhere.

Information We Collect

Deckly is designed to work entirely on-device. All decks, cards, study sessions, and spaced-repetition progress are stored locally using SwiftData and never leave your device.

Deckly does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use the app.

Deckly's networking code may contact a custom API endpoint to support core app functionality. Any such communication is limited to what is strictly necessary for the app to operate and does not include your flashcard content or personal identifiers.

How We Use Information

Because Deckly does not collect personal information, there is very little to describe here. App functionality data processed locally on your device is used solely to run features such as spaced-repetition scheduling, quiz generation, and session summaries.

We do not use any data for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.

Product And Technical Data

Deckly does not integrate third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs. Aggregated, non-identifiable diagnostic information may be provided to timmy mckeegan by Apple through standard App Store mechanisms if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in your iOS settings. We do not control or initiate this collection.

If you contact support, any information you voluntarily provide in that communication (such as your email address) will be used only to respond to your request.

How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Because we do not collect personal data from within the app, there is nothing to share.

We may disclose information if required by law, but given the nature of Deckly's data architecture, we have no user data to disclose in most circumstances.

Data Retention

All app data — decks, cards, and study history — lives on your device. You can delete it at any time by deleting individual decks within the app or by uninstalling Deckly entirely.

If you contact us by email for support, we retain that correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your request.

Your Choices

Because Deckly does not collect personal data, most standard data-subject rights (access, portability, deletion) are satisfied entirely on your own device. You are always in control of your content.

To delete all app data, uninstall Deckly from your device. To stop any optional Apple-mediated analytics sharing, adjust the setting in iOS under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Children's Privacy

Deckly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app requires no account and stores no data externally, it presents minimal privacy risk for younger users, but parental guidance is always encouraged.
